Helmer: Can't do what, i don't understand?
Nora: I can't be your little skylark, scatterbrain, squirrel anymore i just can't
Helmer: Why not Nora? you've always been my skylark, scatterbrain, squirrel.
Nora: i just need to find myself and figure out who i really am. My whole life I've been treated like a "doll". ACT 2
Back again! Act two has come and gone.Tension arise during the second act, as Dr. Rank admits his love for Nora, and Krogstad confronts Nora about forging her papas signature on the contract.
I was shocked to find out that Dr. Rank has been in love with Nora knowing that Dr. Rank and Helmer (Nora's husband) are best friends! before Dr. Rank confesses his love, Nora wants to ask him a favor, she wants to ask for money to help pay off her debts from Krogstad. After finding out that Dr. Rank loves Nora, she couldn't ask for the favor because she didn't want him to think that she was leading him on but in reality she has been leading him on the whole time. Nora is usually a Jauntily person but she is now stuck in this terrible situation that's almost impossible to get out of.
AS act two progresses we find out that Mrs. Linde wants to help out with Nora's situation, Krogstad has put the letter which contains what Nora has done into Helmer and Nora's letter box. Nora is trying her very best to keep Helmer AWAY from the letter box, she try's to do that by asking him to help with the dance that they are doing at there neighbors party which is called the Tarantella, a southern Italian dance. Nora tells Helmer "oh please Torvald, please you can critigue and tell me what I'm doing wrong". Helmer agreed and stayed to help Nora. Mrs. Linde trys to find Krogstad to take the letter out of the letter box, but little does anymore know that Krogstad and Mrs. Linde (also known as Kristina) had a past in which they were both in love with each other, but Kristina had to end it because he wasn't financially stabled to support her mother and her two brothers so she broke it off to marry a wealthier man who could support the family. They say their is a difference with being in love with somebody and just needing somebody to complete the missing parts. Mrs. Linde finally gets in touch with Krogstad to take the letter away and he agrees to do so. AS soon as krogstad agrees to take the letter out, Mrs. Linde then realizes it's the best thing for Nora and Helmer if Helmer just finds out what she did so their wouldn't be anymore secrets. Nora is going to be in hysterics when Helmer finally sees what his wife has done...
Do you think Nora should just come clean?
Stay tuned to see...what happens next...

Act 1
Act 1 has now come to an end. My opinion on "A Dolls House" is thats its pretty good. The main characters so far are Helmer and his wife Nora. My personal opinion on Nora is that she comes across very conceded she's all into herself and how perfect she is. I also feel as if Nora is very frivolous because she doesn't really have a purpose or value, she doesn't work and she has a nanny take care of her kids. Her husband Helmer works at a bank and just recently got promoted to bank manager. Helmer and Nora's relationship is not the typical relationship, Helmer treats Nora like a child he calls her all sorts of names such as Skylark, Scatterbrain, and Squirrel. The household is definitely run by Helmer and everybody follows his strict rules. One of Helmer's rules is that he hates when Nora borrows money from other people. "Nora! Nora! Just like a women! But seriouslyNora you know what i think about that sort of thing, no debts, no borrowing. Theres something constrained, something ugly even, about a home founding on borrowing and debt you and i have managed to have clear up till night, and we shall still so for the little time that we have left". But little does Helmer know a couple years back Nora had to borrow money from Krogstad because she needed to take Helmer to the south of Italy because he was very ill and that was the only way of getting better. Helmer does not like Krogstad because he is a criminal, years back he forged a signature on a legal document. Helmer once said " Many a man can redeem his character if he freely confesses his guilt and takes his punishment".
As act 1 is coming to an end. Nora is very scared and nervous because Nora forged her papas signature on a contract in which she owes money to krogstad due to the trip to italy. Krogstad is now blackmailing Nora, he is telling Nora that she has to persuade her husband Helmer to let him keep his job at the bank and if not she will tell Helmer. Nora feels as if she is corrupting her children's minds if this gets out. Nora will be known as the next criminal if this secret is leaked.
I wonder if Nora's secret will get out?
If so i wonder how Helmer is going to react to it?
Stay tuned...see what happens next...

Henrik Isben
HI, my name is Mary but everybody calls me Molly. I am 16 years old and i play three sports volleyball, basketball, and softball. I would have to say my favorite sport would be softball because I love playing outdoors and I love the competition. One my favorite things to do on my free time is to go shopping with my friends. Something I really enjoyed doing this year in english class was reading all the short stories and doing group projects. I really am very excited to start reading "A Dolls House". I think the play is going to be about and doll that is walking through a scary house and discovering things about the house that she didn't already know before.
Henrik Ibsen was born on March 20, 1828 in Skien, Norway. As a child Henrik would show little signs of the theatrical genius that he would become. Henrik was the oldest of five children. His mother loved to paint and play the piano and also loved to go in to the theater. Henrik's father was a merchant and at the age of 8 Henrik and his family were going through poverty due to problems with his fathers business.
Henrik spent most of his time reading and painting and he loved performing magic tricks. When Henrik was only 15 he stopped his schooling and he went to work. He started to work as an apprentice in an apothecary in Grimstad. He worked for 6 years and wrote poetry and painted. Ibsen wrote his first play Catilina in 1849. Henrik then moved to Germany where he wrote one of his most famous plays of all times "A Dolls House" in 1868. Henrik Ibsen was greatly inspired by William Shakespeare.
